Students’ Council

The Students’ Council, which is directly under the Dean of Trainees office at Kitui East TVC, plays a critical role in representing the trainee body, fostering leadership, and promoting active trainee participation in the development of the college.

As a bridge between the administration and the trainees, the Council ensures that learners’ views, concerns, and suggestions are heard and addressed in a structured and respectful manner. It also takes the lead in organizing learner-centered activities that enrich campus life.

Purpose of the Students’ Council:

• To represent trainee interests in college decision-making processes
• To promote trainee welfare and advocate for a conducive learning environment
• To encourage trainee responsibility, discipline, and participation in governance
• To support the implementation of co-curricular activities and events
• To nurture leadership, public speaking, and conflict resolution skills

Structure and Elections:

The Council is composed of elected trainee representatives from various departments, led by a President, Deputy President, Secretary General, Treasurer, and other key portfolio holders. Elections are held annually through a free and fair process that gives every trainee a voice in choosing their leaders.

Key Activities of the Students’ Council:

• Coordinating trainee events and interdepartmental forums
• Participating in disciplinary and academic board meetings as trainee representatives
• Supporting community service, clubs, and society initiatives
• Promoting unity, communication, and engagement among trainees
• Addressing trainee grievances and working collaboratively with college management
